Frankfurter Krantz
As many of you may be aware, I have been a little quite of late. It all started during my tummy tuck operation (which I had to remove a lots of excess skin from weight loss) I was recovering and things started to get serious with MR N (Mr Normal) the guy I was dating.
Life got busy and the blog, just got left behind 🙁 so I asked Monica if she would do a guest blog for me to get me up and running again and back into the swing of it. You know what they say, if you want something done, ask a busy person to do it… well that is me now!
The name is this cake sort of put me off, but I had to have a go and it was delicious, so much so I forgot to take a picture (and I made it some time ago). Fortunately Monica took some lovely photos and it looks so beautiful and retro, that you just have to try it!
Monica is an avid Thermomix user and has converted the cake to a Thermomix Version click HERE to go to the actually recipe on the recipe community.
This picture is of Monica when she was a little girl with her mum… She told me the story that a butterfly had landed on her and her mum bent down to reassure her that everything was alright.
This cake is very sentimental to Monica as it is the special occasion cake that her mum use to make (or anytime they could get her to make it actually). Here is the original recipe!
Don’t you just love old recipes… it is one of the reasons that I started this blog. I was trying to put all my Nana’s favourite recipes in one place! It is so amazing how food can bring back some of the most wonderful memories.
This cake is made in layers, so it very easily can be made over 2 days. Make the cake one day, then split and fill the next, and keeps covered in the fridge for a few days, if it lasts that long!
Well I hope you enjoyed this little walk down memory lane with Monica… She has a lots of recipes on the Recipe Community and really loves converting her favourite recipes for the Thermomix.

Thanks so much for reading… I will have my head back in the game with another old class Tuna Bake 🙂
