This is a quaint little coffee shop, come men’s barber, come back yard, come great coffee, good food place 🙂

The owners of Black Coffee Lyrics have set up this spot right next to Alfred St (hence the name). Inside the shop is a barber (coming soon) and an assortment of mens wear… very hipster, and cool! You could buy a shirt, have your beard trimmed and then coffee and breakfast all in one place… really it is a hipsters one stop shop!

Tan and I (Top Ten Team was missing Sim, not sure what happened, she was probably off horse ridding) were joined by Tan’s hubby for coffee and a little something to eat…

You literally order from a hole in the wall and the coffee cart is in the back yard, where you sit in the sun or under umbrellas on great outdoor furniture.

I got my coffee straight away as I ordered a cold drip filter coffee with milk and maple (sound familiar) But Tan and Hubby seemed to wait for ever for theirs, then we realised that they had called out names, but we didn’t hear, so their coffees weren’t too hot… Maybe a better system might be in order, especially if the barista doesn’t have a loud voice!

I have to say my coffee wasn’t as good as “BLACK COFFEE LYRICS” (REVIEW) but I still really enjoyed it. They had run out of something sweet, but gave us a couple of yesterdays biscuits for free.. and really they were not too bad.

I then decided that I actually was hungry and ordered a breakfast wrap from the very small, but well designed menu.

 CHECK OUT ALFRED’S DINER WEBSITE FOR MORE INFORMATION on their shop, grooming service, other menu items and even bands that play on “The Couch” sometimes!

So if you are in the area or even if you aren’t, drop into ALFRED’S. It is a funky place to have coffee and a small bite to eat. It’s opening hours are as follows.

Shop

8.30am – 4.30pm Mon – Sat

8.30am – 3.00pm Sun

Diner

6.30am – 2.30pm Mon – Sun
