Finding the Best Coffee – Bam Bam Bakehouse – Mermaid Beach

Bam Bam Bakehouse Title

The Top Ten Team is back! AND what a comeback it is. I have to confess, I am sitting here at Bam Bam Bakehouse drinking a coffee waiting for the rest of the girls to arrive, but I could already write the review as I have been here… ummm…. 4 times already, just not with the girls. I couldn’t wait…!

You know that a coffee shop/cafe is great, when I make a point of coming back even though there are so many that I still haven’t frequented. So here goes.

Bam Bam Bakehouse is the brainchild of Ursula and Ben, the wonderful guys that bought us Paddock and all the amazing (non diet) delights at that beautiful coffee shop/cafe. Click Here for the Top Ten Team Review.

Bam, Bam sits just off the Gold Coast Highway and is right next to a lovely maintained park at Mermaid Beach. There are a few parking spots (that always seem to be full) but there is ample parking around the side streets and lets face it, a bit of a walk is always good before you go to a cafe that has “Bakehouse” in its title. There website has the exact location and menu options if you would like to have a look HERE. Or pop on over to their Facebook page and have a look at the delectable delights on offer.

So what have I eaten? I have had the Bam Bam Benny $16, a generous selection of bakery selections, most notably the almond croissants and donut selections. The 2 eggs Nasi at $16 is a must try and the Crumpets are to die for and don’t resemble anything you would find on a supermarket shelf! I have also been for lunch and tried the Beef Dip… Wait for it… a hot smoked beef brisket, BBQ onion, melted jalapeño and jack cheese on a roll that you dip into this amazing gravy. Oh and this was served with Potato Fries that come to shake in a bag. I chose the Parmesan, thyme and truffles salt. Oh and then I had to try the ramen salad with grilled sate prawn skewers, just to feel healthy!

If there is anything negative to say, it is very noisy, as the floor is cement and the acoustic ping off all the hard reflective surfaces, but you can put up with that for a while as the food and coffee is so good! If you really have an aversion to the noise, choose a table outside and that can be minimised.

I know it all sounds divine, so you know why I have had to come back again and again to try everything on the menu. So what did we have today, the Top Ten Team day!

You know that Tanya always has the biggest coffee on offer, a muggachino $5

I choose the smallest, piccolo $4

and Sim has an alternative, today it was a skinny hot chocolate $4, that she didn’t think was all that good and only rated it a 5… so some work on the chocolate is needed, but I personally think she should suck it up and get on the coffee band wagon! Then there would be no problem! LOL! Love you Sim!

I went with the Brekky Burger today $14. I know it sounds boring but listen. Pork sausage patty, haloumi cheese, wild greens, red pepper jam, 2 egg omelet on a soft Paddock Roll! Doesn’t sound that boring now, does it!

Oh and this is it cut it half… YES it tasted as good as it looked!

Tanya and Sim had already had breakfast and chose from the dessert/pastry bar with prices ranging from $4 – $7.

Oh and if you didn’t think the cafe was cool enough, I’m currently listening to Stevie Wonder serenading me with “For Once In My Life” which is just one of the fantastic 50’s, 60’s and 70’s old school music that is played while you eat.

So this is the rating on this particular day… I know my scores are high, but I always seem to choose well on a menu and I had food as well, the girls only have coffee and pastries etc… 🙂

I hope you will find a park and grab a seat at Bam Bam Bakehouse and give it a go! Enjoy a little piece of food and coffee paradise at Mermaid Beach!

Thanks for reading.

All your delicious coffee pics this week have been making me smile, I know I said it already, but it’s great to have you back. That brekkie burger, no way you’d find me sharing that deliciousness with my friends. Ha!
